Hello! I am David Childers, one of the "C's" in CC's Motorcycle Training, Inc. I was born in Orlando, Florida on November 12, 1966, and currently reside in Middleburg, Florida with My wife of 20+ years, Gianna, and our 5 children.
I joined the Army in September 1984 shortly after graduating from Oviedo High School. After several years as a member of the Florida National Guard, I went active duty and began my "World Tour". Since then I have proudly served in over 10 different countries and completed 5 combat tours. Some of the 24 awards and decorations I have received include the Bronze Star Medal with Valor for actions during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, 3 Meritorious Service Medals, the Presidential Unit Citation (2nd award), Valorous Unit Award, and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award.
After returning from my third deployment to Iraq, I decided to retrire from the Army with 24 years of service on January 1, 2009. I immediatly decided to start working toward my next career goal. I am currently a full time student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University finishing my BS in bussiness management. I have successfully completed the Basic Riders Course (BRC), the Experienced Riders Course (ERC), the Skill Enhancement Riders Course (SERC), and the Riders Coach Prep Course (RCP). I was very impressed with how thorough and informative these courses are. They have been designed to do more than just teach someone how to ride a motorcycle. These courses actually prepare the student to become a more courteous, safe and conscientious rider. It became clear to me that every motorcyclist should attend these courses; however, the number of courses offered at that time were few.
Along with the motorcycle training listed above, I am certified through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), and the Florida Rider's Training Program (FRTP) as a Rider Coach. Additionally, I hold memberships in the Harley Owner's Group (HOG), ABATE of Florida-( Black Creek Chapter) Riders Club, and Honda Rider's Club of America.
